On June 6, 2026, the 3rd International Conference on Computer and Multimedia Technology (ICCMT 2026) was successfully held in Sanming City, Fujian Province. The conference was hosted by Sanming University, co-organized by the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Agricultural IoT Applications and the Fujian Provincial University Engineering Research Center for IoT Applications, and undertaken by the School of Information Engineering of Sanming University. More than 200 experts, scholars, researchers, and industry representatives from domestic and overseas universities, research institutions, and enterprises attended the conference, engaging in in-depth exchanges and discussions on frontier directions such as computer science, artificial intelligence, multimedia technology, and intelligent systems. The online viewership of the conference exceeded 1,700 person-times.

The ICCMT series of conferences has been held for three consecutive editions, becoming an international exchange platform with broad academic influence and brand recognition in the field of computers and multimedia. Closely following the development wave of digital technology and intelligent media, this year's conference featured various forms of exchange, including keynote speeches, thematic sub-forums, oral presentations, and poster displays, comprehensively covering core directions such as fundamental computer theory, algorithm optimization, network technology, artificial intelligence, big data, information security, as well as multimedia signal processing, image and video technology, digital media art, VR/AR, and multimedia system applications.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Chen Riqing, Vice President of Sanming University, delivered a welcome address. He introduced the university's rootedness in the old revolutionary base area of northwestern Fujian, its adherence to application-oriented education, and its platforms such as provincial key laboratories and industrial colleges. He stated that the conference focuses on the frontiers of artificial intelligence and multimedia, and he looked forward to in-depth exchanges among experts to promote industry-university-research cooperation, and wished the conference complete success.

Professor Jia Heming, Vice Dean of the School of Information Engineering of Sanming University, presided over the meeting.

The conference invited several experts and scholars with significant academic influence at home and abroad to deliver keynote reports, including Professor Benjamin W. Wah of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (IEEE Life Fellow, ACM Fellow, AAAS Fellow), Professor Qing Li of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow, AAIA Fellow), Professor Zhang Haijun of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Professor Ahmad 'Athif Mohd Faudzi of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Academician of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia), Professor Xiao Guobao of Tongji University (among the world's top 2% scientists), Professor Jia Heming of Sanming University (among the world's top 2% scientists), Dr. Philippe Fournier-Viger, Distinguished Professor of Shenzhen University (among the world's top 0.3% scientists), and Professor Wang Yulin of Wuhan University.

In addition, Associate Professor Wu Hao from Southern Connecticut State University, USA, and student Liang Zhibo from Dongguan University of Technology delivered offline oral presentations respectively, sharing their latest research achievements in the fields of virtualization performance evaluation and intelligent graphics recognition.

The conference was co-organized by Shanghai University, Minnan Normal University, Minjiang University, Wuyi University, and the Sanming Computer Information Science Society, and received technical support from the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. During the conference, the organizing committee provided meticulous on-site services and online live streaming (via Zoom) to facilitate remote participation by scholars at home and abroad. Meanwhile, photo live streaming was also arranged for participants to view and share highlights in real time.

The successful holding of this conference not only built a high-quality platform for technical exchange and cooperation for experts and scholars in the field of computer and multimedia technology, but also provided valuable opportunities for young scholars to present their achievements and expand cooperation. ICCMT will continue to focus on frontier technologies, promote the deep integration of academia and industry, and facilitate the innovative development of global digital intelligence and multimedia technology.
